Nugget lived in an abandoned apartment when his family was forced to leave after Hurricane Maria. Nuggest was cared for by local residents who kept him alive over the last few months. Alicia and Alice were told about Nugget and of course had to help. He visited the vet twice last week, and was given the OK to fly. He does have a heart murmer, and he needs to be neutered once he's strong enough.

If you are interested in adopting, your home situation MUST meet this criteria:


A vet reference check, dog walker check (if applicable), landlord check (if applicable), a phone interview and home visit will be conducted prior to approval. If you think a pug is right for your family and you meet the criteria, please apply to adopt on our website at www.pugrescueofnewengland.org.

Our mission is simple: we find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in New England. Our pugs will be UTD on shots and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. You must be a resident of New England (New York residents carefully considered).


PRoNE is supported by adoption fees, donations and funds raised through auctions and events. Adoption fees range from $150-$500.
